Dear all,
To celebrate the beginning of the summer holidays, (and hoping that the temperature will rise above 2 degrees), today Darren and I cooked up a HUGE roast beef. I took the helm in the kitchen (uh oh) and started by pan frying the gargantuan piece of meat.
The meat started to brown quickly and I could see Darren glancing over towards the stove eager to get involved ( he is an incredible cook).
Once all sides of the beef were browned, I covered the meat in Ted Reader's *amazing* Bone Dust seasoning http://aroundtheburgerbookinoneyear.blogspot.ca/2011/05/burger-two-bone-dust.html
Then Darren moved over the kitchen ( it was best - there was smoke) and managed to get the meat into the cooking tray along with carrots, potatoes and onions. We added some water and some white wine to the dish and then put it into the oven ay 350 degrees. And that was it! Easy.
After a couple of hours, the meat was done and the meat and carrots were tender and delicious! A quick and relatively easy meat-feast!
And in other news:
1. Note to all international travellers: Did you know that now you need a special lock on your suitcase that Customs are also able to open. Darren purchased a new suitcase today equipped with said lock!
2. Here is my 15 minute painting from Michelle's Art Class today - a quick vase ( and I was actually quite pleased with it!).
