Year Two Day One Hundred and Fifty One - Trilliums

Dear all,

Whilst on our mini hike along the Bruce Trail up at Blue Mountain,  (http://brucetrail.org/), Karen and I stumbled across the iconic Canadian flower, the Trillium. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trillium
The trillium grows wild in Canadian forests and is protected by provincial governments as it takes years to recover after being picked and/ or transported.
It has a beautiful and delicate flower and we even stumbled across a pink variety today. http://www.ont-woodlot-assoc.org/sw_woodlandplants.html
It's a beautiful wild flower and always a treasure to find. I am thinking I should really try and paint one soon while they are still in bloom! Our hike was wonderful and here are some pics - I am flexing the muscles of the new mini camera!
The trees are starting to bloom - lime green leaves poking out everywhere... gorgeous.
And a few from the top of Craigleith ski hill - Georgian Bay is looking spectacular.
Ahhhhhh... Collingwood.
