Year Two Day Twenty Nine - Golf Town

Dear all, 

Today Darren was brimming over with excitement at the prospect of visiting the brand spanking new Golf Superstore in Barrie, 'Golf Town'. http://www.golftown.com/default.aspx?lang=en&rnd=0.3119118

They are building a huge new subdivision of Superstores just opposite Costco on Mapleview Drive South of Barrie. It is HUGE and extremely exciting and will soon become my favorite section to shop in Barrie ( Chapters, Curry's Art Store, Golf Town, Mucho Burritto and Costco all within 400 metres of each other!)

Golf Town is massive and full of all-things Golf. I am a complete beginner and therefore oblivious to any kind of golf-club-quality hierarchy but Darren is 100% clued in and made a bee line straight for the drivers. 

There were, what seemed like, hoards of staff on hand to help out; all clearly golf mad and very knowledgeable. We had at least 3 customer service reps helping us out as well as a pro coach on hand to assist with Darren's swing. 

 I was extremely excited when they offered Darren a go in the golf-simulator. They actually had three in the superstore so we didn't have to wait and Darren was able to give four different drivers a good test run.

 Then Sheldon, the 'golf pro' came over to give some handy hints to Darren using video footage of his swing; it was brilliant! So informative and worth while. They are really onto something there! We left with no purchases but Darren most certainly had a spring in his step and was eager to implement they new found golf-town wisdom into his game. We decided that to celebrate, we would cook up a beer can chicken on the BBQ: It was delicious! That beer can chicken is a winner!
