Dear all,
It's Sue's and Gary's wedding! Darren and I drove down to Toronto on a blissful Saturday morning - we are being bathed in glorious summer sun at the moment and it was the perfect day for a wedding. We managed to find the church (albeit a little late... ) http://www.stjosephsstreetsville.com and I almost teared up on entering the church, Sue looked amazing!
It was a lovely ceremony and I was bursting to see everyone afterwards - these are were dear friends I made while living out in Japan for two years on the JET program Twelve *I can't believe it* years ago! Even the wonderful Urazaki family and lovely Naomi all from Gifu (yay) were in attendance, in FULL Kimono! (http://www.jetprogramme.org)
It was AMAZING!!!!!
After the ceremony and a wonderful and emotional catch up with old pals, we stopped off at our hotel (The Holiday Inn at Oakville), spruced ourselves up and sneaked into the hotel bar for a quick cold bear before cocktail hour.
And off we went! Hee hee!!!
We were picked up in a LIMO and all whisked off to the reception, a gorgeous location down on the lake. I managed to get our one and only video of the during the limo ride although this is probably for the best as the drinks started to flow [very] freely as soon as we arrived...
It was AMAZING !!! http://www.harbourbanquet.ca/ We arrived and swooped up the staircase to find the most gorgeous banquet hall with a blistering view of the harbor. Here are the lovely Allison and Kalpa following me up the stairs!
And check out the view!
The party started almost immediately with cocktail hour and a massive array of aperitifs. There were speeches and dances from all of the wedding party and it was so much fun - everyone was having such a blast, it was infectious!
Here are some piccies of Sue and Gary's first dance! So joyous!!!
Gorgeous Elle and Naomi from our Japan days!!
Sean and his lovely fiance Kalpa.
We had an amazing meal with two entrees and copious other delicious items. The speeches were fabulous and so emotional and loving. It was all so great.
I had possibly had a 'couple' of beers by the time dessert came but it was wonderful - crepes and ice cream!
And the rest of my photos are of all my gorgeous pals and of course amazing D! We danced the night away until we were swept up again by the limo off to our hotel...
It was an amazing night!!!
Congratulations Sue and Gary!! xxxxxx
