Year Two Day Thirty One - Wild Blueberries

Dear all,

Today was yet another scorcher and we started off early on the drive up to the cottage in order to meet up with a guy from the Electrical Safety Department who was going to survey the property.
Everything went very well - I enjoyed a spot of sunbathing during the course of the inspection however was cursing myself at not having bought my swim suit. The water looked spectacular and was as warm and clear as one ever could wish for.

One the way home, we stopped off at 'James Bay Wild Fruit' on Highway 11 after being lured in by a large sign that said 'Wild Blueberries'. http://www.wildblueberries.net/

The store was fabulous! We were welcomed by the gorgeously soft smell of stewed fruit coming from the back while we perused the shelves stacked high with jar upon jar of jam, marmalade and other preserves.
We picked up a jar of Raspberry and Rhubarb jam as well as some 'Bernyerbut' Salsa  [the hotter the better so this was certainly an intriguing label]. Both are fabulous - as you can see we have already polished off half the full jar of the 'Bernyetbutt'!
The Wild Blueberries looked divine but we thought maybe a little overindulgent considering the price (!!!) so we went for some fresh, '40 cent' corn and a punnet of strawberries *sigh*. Delicious!
A brilliant day - summer is here and it's fabulous!
