Year Two Day Thirty Nine - The Floating Dock

Dear all,

Today we got one step closer to finishing the dock - the floating dock was finished and being delivered today by Carnarvan Castle!
The big boss, Lou was in charge of the delivery and managed the truck with obvious skill as he backed up to the landing and waited for us to grab ropes and a couple of oars.
I stood on the main landing while Darren hopped into the water and we held onto too tow ropes while Lou hoisted the dock upside down on the truck.

Lou seemed to do this with incredible skill and speed and before we knew it, the dock with bobbing up and down in the water and Lou had disappeared over the horizon.
We edged the dock further down towards the lake and then both hopped on and started to row!

It was pretty fun paddling our way up through the boats on the gorgeous new floating dock. It is quite impressive - solid and vast. We certainly attracted some attention from a couple of fellow boaters out for an afternoon jaunt.
Once we had a clear stretch in front of us, D grabbed our boat and I hitched a lift from the dock...

Here I am being pulled across the lake by D in the boat! It was quite a sight!
So now we have the floating dock at the cottage and here it is in it's temporary new home! It is very excited and I can't wait to start some serious work on the cottage this week!

  1. I notice you are doing all the work, and Darren is lolly-gagging around - and driving the boat.
