Year Two Day Thirty Six - Peeling Peaches

Dear all,

This is a revelation! Darren is a master in the kitchen and today showed me an ingenious way of eating peaches taking advantage of the new influx of fresh Ontario peaches straight from the Niagara region.
It's such an easy trick: Boil a large pan of water and then pop the peaches in and blanche them for 3 to 4 minutes
Once the peaches have been submerged in the water, take them out [with tongs - remember they are hot!] and let sit for a couple of minutes to cool.
You can then pick up the peaches and peel of the skin in one foul swoop - it comes clean off with no left over bits or wasted peach flesh.
Darren then cut up the peaches into the familiar slices and added a 'tiny' bit of sugar. They were delicious and perfect with a dollop of Haagen Daz, perfect for combatting the heat and a fabulous late night snack.
And in other news:
1. Today, Anna and I popped over to see Nadia in her gorgeous new pad right on Georgian Bay! It was a gorgeous evening and still a balmy 28 degrees at 9pm!
Congrats Nadia on your new place!!!
