Dear all,
It's DEIDRE AND VINCE'S WEDDING!!! Oh my goodness, where do I start but to say, IT WAS AMAZING! A brilliant, brilliant day from start to finish and because so much happened... I will condense into mini segments to try and convey everything without writing a novel.
It couldn't have been a more perfect day. Despite a less than promising weather, come midday it was like being in the heart of summer but at a comfortable 25oC and not a cloud in the sky. The wedding was held at 'The Doctor's House' in Kleinburg, near Vaughan, just north of Toronto. It was like being in a fairy tale; stunning grounds that resembled an English Country Garden and exquisite banquet hall and building absolutely fitting for Deidre and Vince's wedding. http://www.thedoctorshouse.ca/
Darren and I drove down to Toronto after a slightly rushed assembly-of-wedding-clothing. On arrival at the Holiday Inn, Vaughan, we were greeted by a wonderful explosion of Darren's family flung from all corners of North America and everyone equally excited about the wedding.
After realizing that Vince and Kerry were in the next door room ( D was on the phone to Vince when I suddenly realized that it was quite odd that I could hear Vince 'as if he was next door'. Turns out, he was), we quickly popped our posh frocks on and made a beeline for The Doctor's House.
The wedding was so wonderful. Pictures are slowly emerging on facebook so I have only posted a few on the blog just to give a wonderful taster of the day. Highlights of the ceremony included Vince's face when Deidre entered the church, the readings, the circle of love, the charismatic minister, the releasing of the butterflies ( Darren and I had our own Butterfly that we set free whilst making a wish) and the photos. Deidre looked AMAZING! Just amazing. Vince looked extremely dapper in his suit and Bella was so adorable she melted ever heart in that chapel.
After the photos, we were treated to drinks and fantastic aperitifs ( including an exploding jalapeno... Kerry came to my rescue on that one) and more chance for some great wedding pics.
Everyone was on amazing form: All Darren's family are so wonderful and it was especially great to finally meet his Mum, Joyce who is lovely.
The next stage of the evening was the meal and OH MY GOODNESS it was incredible! WE were treated to no less than 7 courses, all amazing including a steak which was possibly the best I have ever eaten. Speeches followed, all of which were very moving and in the meantime, Darren, Vince, Kerry and I were tucking into chocolate martinis.
We danced the night away with Deidre, Vince and everyone and eventually, as the evening was drawing to a close, ate one final morsel from the midnight buffet, grabbed a cab and headed home.
It was amazing and now Deidre and Vince and winging there way off to Bora Bora, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
