We woke to a misty morning and only after we had set off in the boat, did the fog start to rise mystically off the lake.
We got stuck in straight away on arrival at the cottage by attaching the posts to the corners and sides of the deck and then the grand event, laying of the decking!
Below is a picture of me (now accomplished with the drill) attaching the bracing to the far end of the deck.
In order to keep the deck free from nails or any other blemishes, Bob and Darren had found some very impressive metal strips which we nailed to the joists and would allow us to fix the decking from the bottom, up.
Being the smallest of the team, I was allocated the job of scrambling under the deck and attaching the screws to the boards as they were laid side by side on the frame. By the third rung, I had got the hang of the drill and was on a roll with getting the screws in.
We had a brilliant afternoon and got a huge amount of work done. Darren and Bob looked so pleased with what we had achieved. We decided to pack up and head home and planning to come back up again very soon!
The deck so far - A great few days of work!

1. On the way home we decided to pop in to Galaxy Cinema and catch 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' in 3D. I hadn't seen any of the 3 movies in the series and was concerned that it included 'horror' and 'gory violence' but I actually really enjoyed it and almost faniced becomming a zombie-fighting vigilanty like Milla!
2. What a way to finished off a fantastic three days: Three pepper wings at The Beaver and Bulldog.
