Day One Hundred and Eighty Three - Launching the Boat

Dear all,

We awoke to a stunning morning at the Firehouse and ready for action.

Darren and his Dad left early to get started on the rather tedious necessity that we all know as 'paperwork' and I took the opportunity to head out for a morning run after Jay had given me the all clear regarding 'bears' {he said I would be fine as long as I didn't run carrying a pound of bacon in my pocket....glad he reminded me or I would have forgotten to take it out}

After the boys got back, we said goodbye to Mary Lou and set out in convoy Darren's landing on Lake Nora, one lake up from Kushog. As you may have gathered by now, Darren's cottage is on an island and therefore crucial to have a boat on hand as the water is getting [to say it midly] a little chilly.
Darren's Dad had found D a brilliant bargain last year in the shape of an old Lobster boat and it has almost immediately made him a star on the island: Everyone loves his boat! Its fantastic for cargo and the most sturdy boat ride I think I have ever experienced but first... we had to get it in the water.
Fortunately Bob and Darren are true pros on the water and the boat went in with no problems and we started to load it up with all the lumbar and machinery. Darren's Dad has a truck full of tricks including his very nifty 'tracks' used for moving the [back breakingly] heavy generator from the truck to the boat.

Before long we had everything loaded and were off! Its a short trip over to Darren's island and I managed to get a quick video to give everyone an idea of how beautiful it is.

Once on shore, we off loaded everything just in time for a quick strol around the island and then we were back in time for tea! A brilliant start to our holiday, I can't wait to get started tomorrow!
