Dear all,
Where would you find this:
Or this ( FYI - This is an original Damian Hirst):
Or this:

Or this:
Or this.....:
And no, it's not a major, internationally acclaimed Art Gallery, Oooo la la, It's L'Hotel in Montreal!
We had been recommend L'Hotel by Scott who was extremely complimentary about his stay. We were very excited to see what awaited us - L'Hotel had fabulous reviews and is owned by the Maitre de Guess Jeans (http://www.guess.ca/) who rather fortuitously decided to fill his new 'place du joie' with hundreds of pieces of fine art: This place is a veritable museum! (http://www.lhotelmontreal.com/photo-gallery/index.cfm). Our bedroom had a huge print ( number 56 of 500.... ominous yet very alluring) of The Beatles (which, of course I loved) and various other peices including this striking work below. I was in heaven! Kerry set out on taking a photo of every single painting in the hotel ( no small feat) while we settled in.
Here is wonderful Darren by the huge 'LOVE' situated outside L'Hotel - It's a fabulous installation and next to a huge and bulbous horse (with mount!).
Montreal is the largest city in Quebec, the second largest city in Canada and the seventh largest in North America! The city takes its name from 'Mont Royal' in the centre of the city and (as you might have noticed from the lingo thus far) French is the official language of the Montreal. Montreal is known as Canada's cultural capital and it didn't disappoint - I immediately felt nostalgic for the cobbled cluster and heritage of Europe but fascinated and hopelessly in love with this gorgeous city.
L'Hotel was situated in a the stunning old town and we set out toute-de-suite to explore..
Kerry and I were in awe, snapping photos like crazy people and loving every minute. Here is a couple of buildings ON OUR STREET... tres chic n'est pas?
And a couple more.. including Montreal's very own Notre-Dame Basilica, pictured below, that also boasted a fabulous light-show come sun down.
We were even serenaded by a fleet of horse drawn carriages - pictured here below! Montreal is truly a vibrant city and we were so excited to explore... more updates tomorrow. J'aime Montreal!
