Today was a very exciting day. My beloved car was sadly 'backed' into a couple of weeks ago by someone at the inn parking lot. Due to the power of the mighty insurance master mind, I was now winging my way across to Jerry's Body Shop in Stayner, to get her all fixed up.
I would take a week so they also offered me a rental car ( imperative in Canada especially if you live on a farm) and on arrival at Jerry's, I was picked up by a nice man in a Ford SUV ( I originally thought he was going to give me that one and my eyes were literally on stalks when he drove up). He drove me back to town, to 'Enterprise' rent-a-car where a very nice man called Andrew took all my details and led me to my 'new' car.
Now, there is a very interesting twist to this tail. Not only have I not rented a car before, I have never in fact driven an automatic. I was very careful about not telling Andrew this very important piece of information and just hoped I could wing it, especially as people say that if you can drive 'stick' you can drive anything.
So I set off in my lovely 2009 Chrysler and after a few jolty stop/ starts ( I was still reaching for the clutch and went for the break instead) I managed to get the hang of it. I went on a drive around the area to get the hang of it and within two stop lights I was a pro. People are right, automatic cars are great to drive, you don't really have to do anything! Also equipped with air conditioning and a very swanky dashboard, I could definitely get used to this!
And in other news:
1. The baby foal ( still no name) had her first bowl of dry food today. As always she excels at being sweet in every way.
