Day One Hundred and Nineteen - Bin full of Chickens

Dear all,

The Pretty River Valley Country Inn has re-entered the Jurassic Era. A Raptor has rather inconveniently laid many eggs that have all hatched and now live in our barn. In an attempt to pacify the beasts Chris, Stefen and I ( All credit to Stefen and Chris. I helped with the tarp) built a phenomenal chicken coop out in the orchard and today was the day that the jail-birds were scheduled to be moved into their new home. [Mac was taken off the premises for safety reasons]
I can tell you that it is an unequivacable fact that baby chickens are vicious, malicious and cunning and should be eaten at all cost! My god they are awful. They smell, they are slimy and they peck you in order to draw blood. yuk yuk yuk.
It was however, quite hilarious attempting to move our teenage dirt-bags out from the barn into the orchard. In the end, we resorted to using large portable buckets to move 10 at a time. It worked like a charm and with no casualties and only a minor flesh wound.
Ahhh, life on an organic farm with its peaceful animals playing in the hay and running throughout the meadow..... ( Until Mac is let out then we have to contend with the possibility of 'The Ontario Chain Saw Massacre'!)
Below some video footage of the moving of the chicks. Quite an amusing venture I must say:
1. Stage One: The Barn
2. Stage 2: Movement out of barn in bin
3. Stage 3. Disembarking into coop
