27oC today and with four days of blissful work free days stretching ahead of me, I packed my car full of plants and made trail for The New House of the mighty Dave who is taking on seventh street by storm.
As soon as I arrived, Dave went to fetch vital supplies of Tom Hortons coffee while I set to work on the front garden. I had bought with me my secret weapon: Sacks of 2008 vintage horse Manure, the best thing any garden could ever wish for.
The previous owners of the house and let a couple of hardy and now gargantuan perennials take control of the garden so Dave and I started to rip out and dig away in order to start afresh. I worked out front whilst Dave battled with 'The Trifids' out back.
Even in a short space of time, we accomplished a great deal. I will be heading back to continue on the gardening marathon, this time with a tribe of boys who are bringing large boy-tools for a more extensive weeding mission!
While Darren was at work this evening, he sent me off on a quest to 'make burritos'. I like a good challenge, so with the air full of the smell of BBQs, I set out for Metro.
This meal ended up being quite the event ( as usual I got over-zealous in the supermarket) as it included my first try and cooking up 'raw' chicken: A big deal for a converted Veggie.
It went very well despite me actually cooking up 'fahitas' without realizing and my inability to monitor portion control still being an issue. The chicken was fried up with onions and peppers and then I added some magic 'fahita dust' - it really did turn out very well. I also made up some guacamole which was suitably toasty due to a dab of our new hot sauce and bought to the table an array of condiments including mixed cheese and salsa.

A perfect meal for two.
