Dear all,
After a few weeks of cold winds, rain and *gulp* snow.. we are back on track with Spring 'proper' and after a long day at school, Karen and I decided to go for a run around Sunnidale Park in Barrie. Karen had often spoken about how lovely it is, so I was keen to explore.
The park is literally a hidden gem - it is absolutely beautiful! They were doing a little construction in one corner but fortunately, it appears to be something that is necessary yet they will go to lengths to conceal the eventual reservoir. http://www.barrie.ca/Living/projects/Pages/SunnidaleParkReservoir.aspx
We ran through forest, through park land and through beautiful gardens. In the forest, we felt like we were a World away from down town Barrie as we sprinted up and down hills and through dense trees.
The gardens were very reminiscent of English parks which made me very nostalgic. The grass was spongy and aromatic as we ran across the vast area. There was even a rugby team practising drills as we ran past - That doesn't get more English ( they were even eating oranges!).
We were so elated from the park, we decided to run down to the water in down town Barrie afterwards ( clocking up a few k's at this point!). The lake was gorgeous, as always - it was a spectacular evening.
After hitting the beach, we decided to turn around ( with a large hill to climb in the form of Bayfield Street to finish our run!). It was fabulous - a blissful and very energetic tour around Barrie.
And in other news:
1. Here is my fourth colour on the Lino Cut Print!
