I am officially reaching new heights in my training as a domestic goddess. Today, I started out preparing dinner with just one raw ingredient (namely a bag of beautiful brussel sprouts) and from that one ingredient produced none other than a curry. I made a curry WITHOUT A RECIPE.
And this is what I did...
1. I chucked the brussels in a pan with a ton of oil and butter [tastes nice].
2. I found a random sweet potato in the cupboard and sliced it up and popped that in too.
4. Then I got a little 'spice' crazy. Maybe a little too spicy.. but [thank goodness] it turned out alright in the end. I ended up adding the following ( in no particular order), curry powder, coriander seed, dried coriander leaves, paprika, ground ginger, a lot of garlic, Ted Reader's Orgasmic Onion Seasoning and celery seed.
I then added some chicken stock and left it bubbling away for 45 minutes or so with a good dose of lime juice and a tad more more garlic to boot.
The end result was fabulous! Darren loved it and we ate the whole thing in three different sittings throughout the evening. A total success and [hopefully] I can repeat it next time. [Note to self: when making up recipes, write them down in case they are a success]
