Day Two Hundred and Thirty Two - Horror Film

Dear all,

Today I faced one of my greatest fears to date: I sat down to watch a horror movie. News Flash: I sat down and 'watched' Saw VI!
Many will be stunned by this revelation as I am known for my overwhelming fear of all horror films and within this category includes: blood, guts, brutal violence, syringes of any kind [this one is particularly debilitating], invasive surgery and/or hospitals, ghosts, the paranormal, blood sucking aliens. Basically anything bad or evil on screen.

I was determined to go and see Saw 3D with Darren at the cinema but [fortunately] had the foresight to rent 'Saw VI' from Blockbusters as part of a 'dry run' in preparing myself for the main event. I have been watching increasingly more disturbing films [for me], so I was pretty confident I would make it through...
So, we settled ourselves in on the lovely sofa, with the lovely fire, a couple of lovely cold coronas and a sumptuous take out from The Hungry Sumo all ready for the movie....

To describe the next 2 minutes of my life is so horrific that I am totally unable to paraphrase, so instead, found solace in The Thesaurus to describe my experience:
HORRIFIC:
Synonyms:abashed, afraid, aghast, alarmed, anxious, apprehensive (yes, I will not be entering a torture chamber soon) , aroused (in cardiac arrest???), blanched (I am blanched), cowardly (I'll take that), cowed (I started mooing like a cow), daunted, discouraged, disheartened, distressed, disturbed, faint-hearted, frightened, frozen, have cold feet ( or 'no' feet as per 'Saw'), horrified, in awe ( of their prosthetics budget), intimidated, nervous ( to ever watch TV again), perplexed ( that anyone could like this), perturbed, petrified, rattled, run scared (I could easily out-run a lathe-wielding psychotic) , scared, scared stiff, scared to death ( all of the above) , shocked, spooked (I can't sleep now), startled, stunned, suspicious, terrified ( of the TV), timid, timorous ( I don't know that this means, but I completely agree) ,trembling, upset ( very upset, even sushi couldn't calm me down) , worried

It was so awful, it literally hurt my head; never had my eyes seen anything quite so horrifying. Darren was very noble in realizing, within seconds, that I was about to experience a celluloid-induced brain hemorrhage and turned it off immediately. I was still in shock for about a hour and only back-to-back episodes of Dragon's Den could get me back on track.

The moral of the story is never ever, ever, ever watch Saw. Even 'watching' two minutes into one of the [seven] films now in circulation set me back 3 years in emotional development. I am now watching 'Up'... *sigh* Emotional and physically equilibrium restored.
