Day Two Hundred and Thirty Four - Building a Marquee

Dear all,

We are having some exceptional weather here in Collngwood but, as we all know, this is the customary smoke screen imposed before the months of inclement weather that await. Bring on the storms!
Today, we were tasked with building a 'double marquee' that Paul and LInda had purchased in place of a drive shed, that would house some of the key equipment during the winter months. Not known for my construction skills, I put on my best outfit and got to work.
Getting the frame in place was relatively easy and akin to assembling an Ikea Flat-Pack. The tricky section was to come and involved getting the immense canvas cover in place and secured. I am 5ft 2 1/2.
Camille, our gorgeous French volunteer and I ascended two parallel ladders and whilst Chris pushed up the cover, we gradually shuffled it over the frame. It was incredible difficult as the canvas was heavy duty and very hard to manoeuvre and there were some hairy moments up there on that 8 ft ladder!
We managed to get the canvas over and then started the pain staking task of lashing the canvas on with yards and yards of rope.
After a long while, we managed to get everything in place and here is the final result!

And in other news:
1. My first attempt at making banana walnut muffins!
I mixed up the batter of flour, sugar, wheat bran, bananas, oil, milk, baking powder, salt, shortening and walnuts. I popped them in some bun tins and popped them in the oven.
Hey presto! Banana muffins and Darren'd condo smells like a patisserie!
