Day Two Hundred and Thirty Three - Collingwood Cinema Club

Dear all,

Today, after volley ball (in which, despite all odds, I am actually improving!), I raced over to the Galaxy Cinema to meet up with lovely Karla and settle in for a night at the Collingwood Cinema Club.

The club has an annual membership whereby you purchase a book of tickets and the proceeds go to the Hospice Georgian Triangle: a very worthy cause.
This evening, the film being screened was , 'Tamara Drewe',
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1486190/, directed by Stephen Frears and starring the fabulous Gemma Arterton. The series takes international films and screens one every Monday through the winter and spring. Karla and I settled in amongst a bustling auditorium. Despite being the youngest there by about 30 years, it was a wonderful vibe and great to be at the cinema with fellow movie-lovers.
Tamara Drewe is about as English as they come so I felt I had to show my support and we weren't disappointed. It supported an all-star cast of fellow countrymen and women and is a delightful romp set in a sleepy Dorset village with some wonderful one-liners that had Karla and I laughing in the aisles.

It was a lovely way to finish of a busy Monday and I am looking forward to another Cinema Club installment soon!

And in other news:
1. My current muse in the kitchen and in the art studio is most definitely the apple! Here is my first attempt at painting a gaggle of home grown 'Honey Crisp'.
2. And below my latest cobbler: Apple and blueberry. I have a good feeling about this recipe and that it is going to make it straight in at the Top Five!
