Dear all,
More exploits on the water today as we stopped off for a leisurely lunch at the Fisherman's Cove in Meaford. Another blissfully sunny day and we were ready for a cool beer and a hearty snack.
Meaford Harbour is unassuming yet pretty and houses a number of boats; local and visitors and is surrounded by condos, and well manicured gardens. We docked the boat and gazed around in awe while our sea legs adapted to the new surroundings. Baring in mind that there must be a plethora of visitors to the harbour throughout the summer, there was not an immediate choice of bar or restaurant to feed our hungry selves. It took a brisk walk down the marina ans Kerry's great background knowledge of the area to allow us to find the Fisherman's Cove.
We took a spot on the patio which resembled a beach side cafe in the bahamas and got stuck in to the menus. I, as always, got overwhelmed immediately by the menu choices and but my menu down until my drink came, resolving to make a last minute decision based on gut instinct. Turns out, one of my choices was a winner, as D suggested I go for the breaded Pickerel ( pictured below, without the bread crumbs) and it was delicious! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chain_pickerel
Aside from the cash terminal breaking down, it was a great spot for a snack and we were full and contented going back onto the boat although vowing that eating in and cooking for each other was far more joyous as it directly avoids strange dalliances with waiting staff and dysfunctional credit card units.
