Dear all,
I have been feeling a little under the weather recently so along with a good dose of 'Echina-seal' [echinaecae, bee propolis and myrrh: very healthy], Darren tossed me one of his secret weapons: a Canadian Ginseng tablet.
Uncle John's Ginseng is fresh from Simcoe! Ginseng is said to have a wealth of health benefits and if taken regularly it can reduce stress, increase physical and mental stamina, enhance blood flow, enhance physical tone, reduce the symptoms of old age, regulate cholesterol, slow down cell degeneration, regulate blood pressure and revitalize the whole body. In short, a wonder-herb! http://www.canadianginseng.on.ca/
Along with Acupuncture, the western world has been wooed by the healing powers of Ginseng that have been used in Chinese medicine for over 5000 years. It can be taken in tablet form, in a tonic or sliced, used in soups or even chewed raw.
Ginseng is a perennial herb and has found optimal conditions in Simcoe although it still takes 3-5 years to grow which includes the use of extensive equipment and a huge amount of tender loving care. But it's worth it!
I felt fabulous even after one tablet and am definitely going to pick up some more the next time we are down visiting Bob and Mary Lou!
And in other news:
1. Another Simcoe treat: Spicy nuts *covered* in a crispy potatoe shell! Delicious hot or cold!
2. Some more arty experiements for your delectation. I am currently experimenting with my long love for Morroco and Mosiac.. this is part way through my first mosiac!
