Dear all
I try not to allow films to creep into the blog as otherwise it would quickly become a blog exclusively about films, but I feel that this is an honorable exception: Tron Legacy!
You may raise your eyebrows in bewilderment, but the original Tron is a Bona Fide classic and one of the first films that imprinted on my brain and would begin to influence some of my major life decision in more ways that I could imagine.
Having grown up in admiration of the original movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084827/) after having watched it in awe with my cool older cousins Christopher and Richard, I was VERY excited when caught wind of a sequel.. nearly 20 years later.
They have been touting the film for over two years with snippets being revealed every couple of months, each one more and more spectacular. There was rumours surrounding the original footage of Jeff Bridges flying around and the forums were full of ideas on the budget, CGI and music, with Daft Punk (http://www.daftpunk.com)being named as the composers of the original score (doesn't get much better than that).
Darren and I had been trawling through the trailers and as soon as it was listed at the Galaxy Cinema, we went for it! Anna and Dale came too and the four of us sat down, with bated breath, as we put on our 3D glasses and waited for the screen to roll.
Can I just say, that I was not disappointed. Tron Legacy yet again redefines how we are now experiencing cinema. The graphics were mind blowing and I was spellbound from start to finish. They was a cheeky cameo from the cheeky Martin Sheen and of course, the mighty Jeff Bridges, excelled himself yet again.
Tron legacy is fabulous and I would totally recommend it. I have already pit a 'Tron motorcycle' on my Christmas list for 2011!
