Day Two Hundred and Eighty Three - Ceramic Knife

Dear all,

Due to a hefty work schedule, I was unable [and as a result have retained my mental health] to get to the Boxing Day sales but my retail-resolve was tested to the max when Darren exclaimed that he had received an email from Tommy Hilfiger (himself) inviting us to visit his outlet store in Barrie where we would find everything our hearts would desire. All for 20% off the final 'sale' price. How could we resist?? http://usa.tommy.com/tommy/

After a serene trip to Tommy Hilfiger, unscathed by crowds, unprecedented in the sale prices and with a sales assistant who appeared to possess the powers of a clairvoyant in regards to jean-size ( I am a size 2-slim fit, regular. Who'd have thought it).

After our triumphant trip to Tommy H, we managed to squeeze in a very productive shopping trip around the remainder of Cookstown Mall including a brief sejourn into the heavenly Kitchen Emporium, Paderno (http://paderno.com/can/index.php)

We ended up making a phenomenal purchase of a 'ceramic knife' after having a couple of 'blunt knife' issues at home, Darren was very keen to go 'ceramic' in his quest to find the ultimate knife; slicing Nirvana.
We managed to pick up a Paderno knife that stunned with its sharpness. It is light, durable and incredible to use. Darren cut through a ciabiatta like it was slab of jello. The only downside is that if you drop it, it shatters into a million pieces (only a minor problem and easily avoided with proper handling).

So, our new knife has settled into the kitchen amongst all it's steel comrades with ease. I would highly recommend one, a great addition to everyone's kitchen.

And in other news:
1. My Dad is a genius. I sent him 'The hardest jigsaw in the world' for Christmas [I googled it] and he finished it! [although now he wants to shred it]
