Day Two Hundred and Sixty Two - Closing the Barn Door

Dear all,

We are having a dreadful week, the weather is just awful!
I realized, [whilst carrying hay 800 metres up a hill, on a toboggan, in a blizzard], that the barn door was still open due to the hay conveyor belt still protruding outside from our summer, hay-throwing activities.
I recruited Chris and Giovanni in my quest as everything inside was now *covered* in snow and a gale was blowing through so hard that I thought the roof would fly off.
I started out up top while Chris and Giovanni were in charge of lifting up the huge hunk of machinery that we had dug up from it's snowy tomb. We managed to hoist it up; I then swapped with the boys and was in charge of 'leading the conveyor belt' over the top of the loft while the boys pulled it over. Not an easy job by any stretch buy we managed it ( without any injury or life loss..).
After [much] more shoveling, we managed to un-glue the door from the railings and slid it across shut, hurray! Anther small miracle at the inn and here is a video to prove it!
Here we have yet another 'barn closing' issue, to be addressed tomorrow...
And in other news:
1. Darren was feeling experimental today and tried a bottle of this fine brew, Blackberry Porter http://www.cannerybrewing.com/BBP.htm My, my, it was strong but had a great flavor; like someone had infused a pint of Guinness with some freshly picked blackberries, delicious!
