Dear all
Full of the joys of Spring-Licious, today I had my first caramel apple. Ones first Georgian Bay Caramel Apple is truly a rite of passage and there has been talk of these hallowed apples for some time. I was very excited and oh my, I was not disappointed.
After a veritable feast at Copper Blues up at Blue Mountain (http://www.copperblues.com/main.html ) which, as a result of being part of 'Spring-Licious', meant people were ordering whole lobsters for less than $30. Although I was a little concerned that I wouldn't have room for desert after my vast sea-food platter.. I put my best foot forward and marched onwards and upwards towards the confectionary equivalent of Utopia.
The wonderful Anna took charge as Darren grabbed the camera as they led the troops over 'The Chocolate Factory' where we filled the store with awe inspired gasps of 'ooo's and 'ahhhh's as the chocolatier talked us through the various caramel apples on offer.
I went for the honeycomb explosion which looked like a hedgehog on steroids and was almost the size of my head. It was AMAZING. oh my goodness. The crisp apple cutting through the rich chocolate and the huge chucks of honeycomb falling off into your mouth... I still have half left over in my fridge and I very much intend to eat it later with a glass of fine wine in the sun.
Anna, thank you for giving me the gift of knowledge in the form of the Caramel Apple. Life will never be the same again.
Note to self: Must try every caramel apple in shop and decide on ultimate flavor. Task must be completed before birthday and then on birthday must eat 10.
