Dear all,
After the recent spell of tropical weather, I was advised to get my tyres changed from my snows to summer tires. In Canada, it is pretty standard to use snow tyres during the winter months as they make the world of difference when traveling in most adverse weather conditions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire
So, this afternoon, amidst an epic food shopping trip where of course I got carried away... I raced down highway 26 to find myself in the capable hands of the 'Tire Guys'.
Now, I knew that I wouldn't be doing anything too advanced.. but on arrival at the garage, I asked if they would be able to indulge me in my quest and let me help with the tire change. Phil was very kind and let me do something with a large lever ( see below ). I think he sensed from my dress code that I am not known for my automotive engineering skills. Phil changed both front tires in approximately 40 seconds - it was quite incredible to watch ( oo they let me in the work shop too - that was pretty cool).
I would absolutely recommend The Tire Guys to everyone (705 446 2555, thetireguys@rogers.com), extremely impressive tire changing skills and great guys.
1. MUM AND JO: I am battling against the odds and proving to myself ( and D) that not only can I cook things that don't burn, they look okay and taste good! I spent a blissful afternoon cooking date slices and cheesy layered potatoes ( using 5 different types of cheese - you should have seen the cheesy crust ) while watching the golf with Darren. Couldn't have had a more perfect afternoon.
