Day Twenty Four - Threading

Dear all,

Today I made a beeline for the heavenly 'Strands' where I had booked myself an appointment to have my eyebrows 'Threaded'. Now, I had no idea what this was apart from the fabulous Melissa ( The Goddess of all that is beauty) saying that it involved 'hair removal using a piece of string'.

I must say, threading is most peculiar. Once in Melissa's boudoir ( so calming... I always leave that room feeling serene and rested even after a 5 minute treatment), I was told to place my fingers on various positions on my face to keep the skin taught. Melissa used a long piece of string ( which was pulled in an ingenious way between her teeth and hands) to pluck out hairs from my eyebrows one by one http://eyebrowthreading.co.uk/.

It was quite bizarre.. painful only as much as plucking would be, with the odd sneeze thrown in.. but the end result was fantastic. It is always quite hard to monitor the state of my eyebrows as they are so fair, but I have tried to capture them 'before' and 'after' .

As always, Melissa worked wonders. If you are in the Collingwood area and need beautifying, go and see Melissa, she is AMAZING! http://www.strandssalonandspa.ca/

And in other news:
1. Below a picture of my car less than 24 hours after the spring clean and already COVERED in mud... sigh

2. Darren's Dad cooked up a fantastic meal of Lake Eerie Perch fresh from the Long Point Biosphere http://www.longpointbiosphere.org/. It was a blissful evening eating Perch with D and his Dad and watching Tiger Woods do his thing in Augusta.
