Dear all,
It's a fabulous day in Collingwood and after a (longer than anticipated) run, Darren and I decided to hit the golf course and welcome in the new season of the golf swing.
We decided to start 'small' so picked up 120 balls at the driving range just on Grey Road 19 just Mountainside sports.I am not known for my golfing 'skills' having previously attained a high score of '187' and invariably ending up hacking at the ball like I am dribbling a hockey ball. This said, I was determined to give it another go and excited to go with Darren ( although had a feeling that he was going to be very, very good)
I love the concept of Driving Ranges; you hit as many balls as you want and the nice man goes around in a 'ball proof' tractor and picks them all up after you. The only concern really is hitting a bird ( not a concern for me).
So, we started to swing! Darren is amazing. He is a closet golf pro and was hitting golf balls up and away over the horizon time after time.. very impressive!
I was hopeless, [but won the prize for best attempt at hitting a bird].
Darren was very patient and gave me loads of tips. I think however that it may need more than the tried and tested formula of 'practice makes perfect'.
I am considering a couple of lessons and maybe we get good enough to graduate to the an 'actual' golf course.Thank you Darren for your amazing patience and golf tuition!
