Dear all,
Holy Thunder, Thor is in town! We are getting bombarded by a series of major electrical storms and experiencing a crazy roller coaster ride of alternating humidity, heat and deluge (in no particular order). It is madness! I was quietly sifting through some paperwork today when the sky went black and a cold wind whistled through the appartement. Within seconds, our house has become its very own water feature with water cascading down the windows at such an alarming rate that I worried about even the roof holding up.
Within five minutes, the storm had passed, but had left about 3 inches deep of water on our front porch. Great for the garden but I did worry about the force of the down pour as all my pansies had spontaneously lost all their petals during the storm. Almost as bad as birds evacuating their homes before an earth quake..
Later on in the day, Darren and I got caught in an even BIGGER storm whilst out on errands.. We could barely see the road! I tried to capture the madness on camera.. it was quite impressive!
I turned on the news this morning and it seems that hundreds of thousands of homes in southern Ontario have lost power as a result of the storms! It's going to be a crazy Summer!
