Day Two Hundred and Five - Electric Meat Slicer

Dear all,

We are in the midst of a very busy season at the inn which includes large groups coming in for the Full Monty which basically translates to a full day of breakfast, lunch and dinner [ a VERY long day]. This evening we were cooking up a '[gigantoid] roast beef and a whole poached salmon ( this is for 14 people) as well as enough appetizers and various other little treats to feed a football stadium.

Paul snuck out and returned with a small black box from a secret compartment in the pantry. The box contained his pride and joy: an Electric Meat Slicer.
I asked [hesitantly] if I might be able to try out the knife to enhance my life skills and blog fodder. Paul was 'reluctant' but then offered me the chance to slice up the beef ribs that were left over from the roast. I was extremely excited about being given this opportunity and Paul managed to get a [brief] video of the event. Unfortunately, we only got footage of the moments immediately after the slicing but here is a taster..

It really is a supreme gadget and slices through any meat, fish or Yorkshire Pudding with amazing accuracy and finesse and leaves a perfect slice with not indents or wrangled flesh. It is a fabulous addition to the kitchen and I now understand why Paul keeps it 'hidden' away for fear that it may get sucked into the vortex ( also called The Inn).

And in other news:
1. Autumn in its full golden glory..
... but the leaves are falling and falling fast *sob*
2. Mac here enjoying the comforts of a dirty clothes pile.
3. Below a FABULOUS recipe for dip called The  'Green Goddess'.
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic minced
2 anchovies
1/4 cup chives or green onions
1/4 cup parsley
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
gr pepper

ITS AMAZING. So tasty. A stable in my Domestic Goddess cookbook!
