Long time no see! I have been deeply involved with my wonderful studies at Georgian College ( http://www.georgianc.on.ca/) and sadly neglecting my beloved slate of blogs. Inspired by the spring sunshine, I thought I would squeeze in a quick post in between painting a calla lily and drawing my conceptual designs for a sculpture installation at Darren's office ( yep... art school means business!).
After a spur-of-the moment decision to explore this well loved eatery, we scooped up Anna and Dale and burnt down Airport Road in search of Rosemont. Anna delighted us with claims that she had 'wanted to eat here for over 18 years' after years of driving down highway 89.... that was it - the deal was sealed and we were off!
I am sadly having a few camera problems at the moment (battery issues and my blackberry is very below par when producing a quality snap) so i order to convey our fabulous meal, feel free to check out the marvellous reviews on Trip Advisor... this place is hot hot hot!
We were thankful for our reservation and once we had arrived... we are greeted by a gorgeous, old property, steeped in local history and charm. The owners have retained the original 'country' theme and feel to the place and after weaving our way through various rooms, we were led to our table, right next to the roaring fire. The menu was well priced and looked delectable. I decided on (one of) the soup of the day, cheddar and potato and for main... chicken in goat's cheese and sun dried tomatoes... the soup was one of the warmest, richest soups I have ever tasted: satisfying and creamy with a lovely bite from the cheddar. The chicken was amazing - each dinner was beautifully plated and i was lucky enough to bag Anna and Dale's ornamental Brussel's spouts... what a score! D had the apple smoked pork loin.... need I say more...
