More alcohol I am afraid ( ahhhh, the summer...), but this time a quite unusual item that I couldn't help but feel was worthy of the blog. Linda buys wine in bulk from 'Magnotta' in Toronto and on her last visit, had picked us up a 'box' of Sangria that she had taste-tested it at the warehouse.

Linda insisted that I take it back home although I was a little concerned over whether it would be a little sweet for his palate. Darren was still deeply entwined in work when I got home, however, we gave it a whirl and on first tasting decided that although desperately sweet, it was very 'flavorsome' with the optimum level achieved by adding copious ice ( despite the directions stating the contrary) and fresh lime.

We didn't decant the wine either so I guess the odds were stacked against us but for a Sangria that came straight out of the box with not a hunk of fresh fruit or cluster of berries in sight, it was very drinkable. I am sure that if I take it back to the inn it will be guzzled within about 30 seconds.
A very drinkable summer wine, perfect for an afternoon in the sun.
