I come with great news! I have a hidden talent.... Officially discovered today during the increasingly frantic preparations for the big event at the inn this weekend:
I am unusually good at flower arranging.
It cost [the inn] nothing as everything was either plucked from the garden or sourced from the basement (which coincidentally contains everything in the universe). In the spirit of trying to become a domestic goddess and therefore [correctly] following recipes, instruction and/or advice, to put together a smashing flower arrangement for a golden wedding anniversary, you will need:
1. Yellow lilies

2. Lavender ( fresh sprigs)

3. Yellow Yarrow

4. Baby's Breath [the flower, not the CO2)

5. A mason jar

6. Some ribbon/ cord or something pretty that ties in a bow.

Directions:
1. Wrap ribbon around mason jar and tie a bow with a small sprig of lavender and baby's breath placed strategically within the knot as too let the flowers drap down the glass.
2. Fill jar with water and add a dash of bleach. I know this sounds weird but apparently it makes the flowers stand up/ last longer. Three cheers for the poison!
3. Shove in the rest of the flowers so they look nice.
And here are a sample of the results. I was very pleased and would gladly arrange flowers all day long. Ooo if anyone ever needs a flower arrangement, please do drop me a line and I will drop one over (nb: This is aimed at all my Canadian pals - not sure how the mason jar would hold up in a shipping container)
